Salman Khan to reunite with Tere Naam director Satish Kaushik after 15 years in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat

“I play a merchant navy officer and will appear in an important sequence in the period drama. It’s a small but significant, quirky character with funny elements,” Kaushik told Mumbai Mirror.

Adding that him and Zafar were in Kirori Mal College, Delhi University together, Kaushik said to Mirror, “We were active in the theatre and the dramatics circuit at the time and during the shoot we would often reminisce about those days. When he offered me this part as captain of the ship, I immediately took it in.”

He shared that he has always had a curiosity with the high seas and his prior knowledge helped him prepare for his character.

He is also currently shooting for his comeback directorial Kaagaz, starring Pankaj Tripathi in the lead as a farmer.

Kaushik’s last film was horror comedy Gang of Ghosts, starring Sharman Joshi and Mahie Gill in 2014.

Bharat also stars Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. An official remake of the Korean film An Ode to My Father, the film will span over five decades. Produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Bharat is slated to release on Eid 2019.
